Awakening - Ethiopia Guji Danbi Natural
From the Relm of Ethiopia, the Danbi Udo station—owned by Hailu Abebe of Demand Trading PLC—has built a reputation for processing exceptional coffees from the Guji Zone. Farmers carefully handpick ripe, red cherries, which are then meticulously sorted and processed at the station to preserve quality before being sent to Addis Ababa for dry milling. Grown at elevations of 1,950–2,200 masl, these conditions produce dense green beans well-suited for precise and expressive roasting.
At Danbi Udo, natural (dry) processing begins with handpicked cherries that are sorted and then spread thinly on raised beds for sun-drying with frequent turning. Depending on climate, natural lots dry over approximately three to four weeks before hulling.
