Remnant - Peru Chonta Washed
From the Relm of Peru, in Cajamarca’s Chontali region, the Chontali mountain range encircles the Chunchucas River valley, where steep, forested slopes rise and gradually level near their peaks between 1100–2100 masl. These elevations, paired with fertile, loamy soil, create ideal conditions for coffee cultivation. Since the 1950s, when coffee farming first took root here, the region has steadily developed, now spanning roughly 2,700 hectares—most of it tended by smallholder farmers managing just 2–4 hectares each.
This relationship coffee is sourced from a small group of those producers and fully washed to highlight the local terroir. The cup presents a structured profile with pronounced acidity and body, layered with notes of Green Apple, Plum, and Chocolate.
